     Since 1980, they play an amazing mixture of gloomy 
guitar noise with powerful electronic rhytms; the leader of the 
band is Andrew Eldritch (vocals, real name Andrew William 
Harvey Taylor) with the addition of a drum machine familiarly 
known as Doktor Avalanche.

    The Sisters Of Mercy sound is solemn, ritualistic, 
violent but also sophisticated, danceable and melodical 
expressing real passions thanks to the great voice of Andrew 
Eldritch, as it is clearly shown by their masterpiece "TEMPLE OF 
LOVE", one of the greatest rock song of all times
