Degree in Environmental Engineering in November 2002. Final mark: 110/110 cum laude. Dissertation: “High quality compost production from selected organic fraction” (Prof. Ing. M.Ghiani, Prof. Ing. A. Muntoni, Dott. S.Silvestri, Dott. G. Zorzi).

Actually I'm pH.D. student in the Department of Geoengineering and Environmental Tecnhologies, the topic of my research is "Mechanical Biological Waste Pretreatment (MBP)". The topics of my research are:

specific research on composting and pratical experience of selected matrix (grape marc)
mechanical-biological pretreatment (MBP) and its effect on waste proprieties, behaviour of humic substances during the pretreatment and after landfilling with batch, column and lysimeter tests;
characterization of MBPW landfill leachate with innovative technics in terms of biotreatability;
assessment of biogas emission from MBP waste and determination of kinetics constants;
fate of nitrogen during mechanical biological pretreatment and after landfilling;
other typologies of waste treatements like vetrification and sintering of MSWI (municipal solid waste incineration residues);
electrokinetics barriers for the control of soil contaminants transport;
biological treatment of contaminated soils and respirometric tests with Sapromat apparatus.
