This summer, the Torre del Lago Puccini Jazz Festival dedicated to the 
italo-american saxophonist DEAN BENEDETTI (1922-1957) get to his
third edition. In fact, Dean Benedetti's origins were here, in this 
little town of Tuscany. The significance of his historical contribution 
to the achievement of the bebop jazz music, has recently been studied 
and revalued by the Jazz Insitute of Chicago.


With the support of the "Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di 
Viareggio" (Viareggio Municipality Culture Councillor)
and the "1° Circoscrizione di Torre del Lago Puccini" (1° District 
of Torre del Lago Puccini), trumpeter Andrea Tofanelli's artistic 
direction with the cooperation of the Jazz Art Orchestra Association, 
the festival will take place on the Belvedere lake square (just in 
front of the Puccini's house) and will be free entrance.
