The word 'vedic' comes from Sanskrit: VEDA, meaning KNOWLEDGE.
"VEDA" are also the most ancient holy texts of India.
The Vedic culture is very old, yet of topical interest. In the last few years a great interest for The East has been developed and for anything that represent it, like SHIATSU massages, alternative medicines, AYURVEDA etc., but people are often satisfied with mere substitutes, a little tasting, also made in "western" style.
VEGETARIAN is a leitmotif of the Vedic culture. Who respects and loves nature cannot kill animals to feed oneself. We will deal with this subject from a strictly philosophical point of view. In fact our slogan is: Veg-Vegetarian Transcendental Food : PRASAD is food offered to God, so it is blessing. The word prasad, from Sanskrit, means Mercy.
VEDIC is a life style, a modus vivendi, to live better, in harmony with oneself and others, in full respect of nature and The One who crated the whole…
VEDIC is first of all knowledge, through the Holy Scriptures: VEDA. It is art and culture . The Vedic Literature can teach us a lot , since, being very ancient, is the source of all literatures, just like the Sanskrit language is the source of all Indo-European Languages. It is the language gathering all the other languages. The word sam?skrta in Sanskrit means: put together, perfected: sam (together), karoti (he makes) - latin: creare: to create.
VEDIC is a state of mind, it is discovering inside the reason of life.
VEDIC is also projecting space according to certain rules, to live better, according to the rules of nature:
VASTU SHASTRA deals with the Vedic architecture.
VEDIC is trend, does not mean fashion, it must not become fashion, but BACK TO THE ROOTS to re-discover our deepest cultural roots.
VEDIC CULTURE is knowledge, art, trend. It is something to be approached with respect and reverence.
We are never qualified enough to spread it, are capacities and knowledge are limited; for this reason we ask for the blessings of our Spiritual Master: Om Srila Bhakti Vaibhava Puri Goswami Maharaja, to whom we wish to dedicate completely our little effort, and we hope helping people to understand some drops of the ocean of the huge cultural inheritance that VEDA have been transmitted us for more than 5,000 years.
The site will be constantly updated and enriched step by step by cultural and religious information, about events the Vedic Association suggests, and about any interesting new.
Moreover there will be a section devoted to our Spiritual Master, regarding some of his speeches between 'East and West'. He has recently come back from his first WORLD TOUR, begun in July 2001 and finished at the beginning of October 2001 in Calcutta. He visited devotees in Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Slovenia, USA: New York, Denver, Los Angeles, Mexico, Australia, Thailandia, to go back to India.
The site is divided into sections that will be enriched and developed little by little. It will be a real WORK IN PROGRESS, in which the final objective of full knowledge will be never attained, since the knowledge of Vedic culture is never full up.
